Did you know that Northampton was the venue of the first women’s Test match in England? Or that one day of the first county game at Wellingborough began in front of just three spectators?

Today, county cricket in Northamptonshire is concentrated at the County Ground at Wantage Road. But over the years first-class cricket has been played at eight other grounds in the county, and the club has also ventured to Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire for ‘home’ venues in some first-class and List A matches, and four more counties for competitive ‘home’ Second XI fixtures.
